Description
This isn't exactly the location that I expected to see an American Bittern. These solitary birds are usually well-hidden in bogs, marshes and wet meadows. This particular bird was photographed on Point Pelee on the north shore of Lake Erie. I guess this one was exhausted after its journey across the lake and was too tired to make it to the marsh just a short distance to the north.

The colours in the background blur are so similar to the bird, it almost looks like he is evaporating. try interesting. Nice clarity.

Beautiful detail and color on the Bittern Gary. Haven't had the pleasure of photographing one of these yet. Love that you caught him in a tree. Fantastic. f/l :)
