Description
These pretty little finches are residents of the arctic tundra and boreal forest. The usual southern extension of their winter range in North America will take them into the Canadian Atlantic Provinces and Ontario's Algonquin Park. In years when birch, alder and seed crops are scarce in their normal range, Common Redpolls will irrupt in large numbers into Southern Ontario and as far south as the central United States. In irruption years, flocks of Common Redpolls congregate around bird feeders where they like to feed on nyjer seed.

It has been awhile since I have seen Redpolls. This particular one you have photographed looks ticked off! :) Great shot, Gary.
