Description
Despite its name, the Orange-crowned Warbler ((Oreothlypis celata) rarely shows its orange crown. These small songbirds have a rather drab looking appearance with olive green plumage above and yellow below. They’re more common in western than eastern North America and winter farther north than most other warblers. One wouldn’t, therefore, expect to see one wintering in Oakville, Ontario as this one has been doing this winter.
