Description
Courtship in the animal world can be rat her rough. In the case of a cheetah courtship chase, frequent mock fights occur between the estrus female and one or more males. Female cheetahs are solitary animals, but tend to choose males that belong to bachelor assemblies. In this image, a pair of male cheetahs, probably brothers, engage in a tumultuous mock fight with "the apple of their eye".
