Description
I always enjoy my spring walks along trails that pass through woodlots especially when the spring flowers are starting to bloom. The beautiful scarlet color of the red trillium always stands out among all the others. Although on this walk, along Southern Ontario's unique landscape of the Oak Ridges Moraine, the red trilliums were plentiful, this one caught my eye because of it was growing at the base of an erratic boulder that had been dumped by the latest glacier thousands of years ago. The color and texture of the granite boulder makes for an interesting backdrop to the trillium.
