Description
The coyote (canis latrans) is a highly adaptable creature. Once found mainly in prairie and desert areas, coyotes are now abundant in a variety of habitats including urban areas throughout North America. Western coyotes are smaller than the eastern race. Both eastern and western coyotes are smaller than wolves. Coyotes have a varied diet including rabbits, rodents, fish, frogs, snakes fruit and carrion. They will also kill small farm animals like sheep and calves and even eat cats and dogs. This part of their diet has resulted in conflict with humans
