The Great Egret (ardea alba) is also known as the common egret, large egret and great white heron. I photographed this pair flying over Long Point's Big Creek on the north side of Lake Erie. Since the egret at the top of the image appears to be communicating with its partner, I decided to add the caption: "I Told You We Should Have Asked For Directions!". I'll let the viewer decide which one is male and which is female. This would make a perfect novelty note card.
