Description
The month of May is a perfect time to hit the trails in search of warblers. The hot spot in Southern Ontario is Point Pelee National Park on the north western end of Lake Erie. Warblers are relatively easy to observe and photograph here because they tend to be tired and hungry following their early morning flight to the mainland from Pelee Island. The Cape May Warbler takes its name from Cape May in New Jersey where the species was first recorded. It took another hundred years before this striking bird was recorded in Cape May again.
Photographed with a Canon 5D Mark III.
