Description
The Ohio Spiderwort ( tradescantia ohiensis) is a native perennial wildflower that ranges between 2' and 4' in height. Its three petaled flowers, surrounded by many buds, open at dawn and typically fade by mid afternoon. The common name, Spiderwort, refers to the many glistening hairs on the sepals and buds that give it the appearance of a spider' nest of webs. Wort is an old English word meaning plant.
