Description
The appearance of the American Robin in spring brings hope that winter is finally over. The robin was named after the European Robin because of the color of its breast. In reality, these birds aren't even related. The American Robin is a member of the thrush family while the European Robin belongs to the flycatcher family. The American Robin is the state bird of Connecticut, Michigan and Wisconsin.
