Old family farms are gradually disappearing from the rural Ontario landscape as urban development spreads outward from metropolitan areas. The largely rural Town of Caledon, located in the northern portion of the Greater Toronto Area, is fortunate to have a few of these iconic symbols of rural life left thanks to protected areas like the Oak Ridges Moraine and Niagara Escarpment which cover a large percentage of the town's footprint.
I'm a retired teacher living in Southern Ontario, Canada. I worked 35 years full time and 10 years part time as a classroom teacher and guidance counselor with the Peel District School Board. I also worked part time in the Faculties of Education of York University and the University of Toronto in their Additional Qualifications Programs.
