The Blackburnian Warbler ( Setophaga fusca), a small New World warbler was named after Anna Blackburne, an English biologist. With its fiery orange throat, it's one of the most breathtaking sights during the spring migration. The Blackburnian is the only North American warbler with an orange throat, making them easy to identify.

I'm a retired teacher living in Southern Ontario, Canada. I worked 35 years full time and 10 years part time as a classroom teacher and guidance counselor with the Peel District School Board. I also worked part time in the Faculties of Education of York University and the University of Toronto in their Additional Qualifications Programs.
