These animals that are indigenous to western and central North America are this continents fastest land animals reaching speeds close to 60 mph. Although not as fast as a cheetah, the world's fastest land animal, the pronghorn can maintain high speeds for much greater distances. They are also renowned for their long migrations, travelling up to 150 miles each way, a distance second only to the caribou.
About Gary Hall
I'm a retired teacher living in Southern Ontario, Canada. I worked 35 years full time and 10 years part time as a classroom teacher and guidance counselor with the Peel District School Board. I also worked part time in the Faculties of Education of York University and the University of Toronto in their Additional Qualifications Programs. I purchased my first SLR camera back in the 60's and instantly fell in love with photography. My love of the outdoors led to my keen interest in hiking and nature/wildlife photography.
