The constant motion of the tiny, cute Blue-gray Gnatcatcher can be a challenge to photograph as it flits around in dense foliage foraging for insects and spiders. As it flicks its tail from side to side, the Blue-gray gnatcatcher scares up insects and proceeds to chase them down. Spider webs are a favorite target for food as well as strands of webbing for their tiny cup shaped nests.

I'm a retired teacher living in Southern Ontario, Canada. I worked 35 years full time and 10 years part time as a classroom teacher and guidance counselor with the Peel District School Board. I also worked part time in the Faculties of Education of York University and the University of Toronto in their Additional Qualifications Programs. I purchased my first SLR camera back in the 60's and instantly fell in love with photography. My love of the outdoors led to my keen interest in hiking and nature/wildlife photography.
