Description
The Eastern Bluebird is the state bird of Missouri and New York. Once in decline as a result of habitat loss, bluebirds are making a comeback thanks to nesting boxes that have been erected on country properties, conservation areas and along country roads. The females build the nests and incubate between 3 and 8 eggs. Bluebirds raise more than one brood in a single season. Young from the first broods usually leave their parents in summer, while the young from later nests often stay with their parents over the winter. This male bluebird is bringing back a nice juicy snack for his brood
