Description
The Greater Kudu ((Tragelaphus strepsiceros), is one of the larger species of antelope with bulls standing about 160 cm. tall and weighing up to 300 kg. The largest populations are located in southern regions of Africa where their preferred habitat is a lightly wooded savanna or rocky bush country. The horns of a mature bull consist of two and a half twists. Kudus have a near threatened conservation status. They are the subjects of hunting for their hides and meat and their horns are treasured collectors’ items.
