Description
The Cheltenham Badlands, sometimes referred to as The Red Hills, are located on the edge of the Niagara Escarpment in the Town of Caledon northwest of Toronto. They are an erosional feature probably initially caused by poor farming practices after the land was cleared of timber. The red landscape is composed of a soft rock called Queenston shale. The property is managed by the Bruce Trail Conservancy.
