Description
The White-faced Capuchin (Cebus Capucinus), a medium sized new world monkey native to forests of Central America and North Western parts of South America, is also known as the White-headed Capuchin and White-throated capuchin. These highly intelligent primates are easily trained and are often used as a companion for organ grinders. They have also been trained to assist paraplegics. In the wild, they have been observed using tools as weapons and for getting food. Capuchin Monkeys, named by 15th century explorers, got their name from the Order of Friars Capuchin whose members wore brown robes with large hoods covering their heads.
